Hello all,

It was lovely to see the church so full (and to meet many of you) last Saturday to celebrate Rev Sarah’s and Julian’s wedding. It was a joyous occasion and wonderful to have Bishop Lusa officiating and singing from the pulpit as part of his sermon - truly memorable! We continue to pray for them during their first weeks of married life together travelling in Sri Lanka.

There is still the opportunity to contribute to a wedding gift for Sarah and Julian and information about how to do that is below. Rev Sarah returns to parish life on 7 October. If there is anything which can’t wait til then, details of who to contact are in her out of office.

This will be the last week with the quiz as our lead photo. The quiz is on Saturday and you can still get last minute tickets for this fun evening so, if you’re free, please get in touch with Janet to let her know you’re coming. 

This Sunday (27th September) is the Ealing Half Marathon. Good luck to anyone taking part! 10.30 Mass will still happen but the roads will be closed 8.30-10.30 so bear that in mind when planning your route to church. 

A little look ahead:

• next Sunday (4th October) is Harvest. Mother Valerie would welcome children to help during the 10.30 mass. If your child/ren would like to take part, please contact her;
• 7th October is the launch of RISE: a monthly session for those travelling through grief. There is more information below. Mother Jeanny is leading and very happy to speak with anyone in more detail. 

I would like to thank everyone for making me so welcome. Sanjit left big shoes to fill but I’m settling in and learning about all the in’s and out’s of parish life at St Barnabas. The office hours are at the bottom of the newsletter and I look forward to meeting many more of you soon.
