Warmest greetings for Holy Week and Easter,

Harry ends his time as Director of Music on Easter Day; during the notices at the 10.30 we will present him with his card and gift. The link for contributions to his leaving gift is below.  Please ensure your donation is with us by the end of Friday.

As you read this, we will be preparing for our Maundy Thursday Sung Mass at 7pm - possibly not too late to decide to come along!

Our services will all be livestreamed (tech-willing).

Whatever this season brings for you, be assured that you are prayed for, and swept up in the great resurrection and new life that Jesus ushers in.

Harry Guthrie ends his role as Director of Music on 5 April 2026. He joined us on Ascension Day 2023, and over the past three years, he has revolutionised our choir and brought joy back into singing choral music. Regular Sunday evening Choral Evensongs feature on the calendar, and we now sing psalms set to Anglican Chant each Sunday morning. We have sung a wide range of mass settings by Haydn, Mozart, Duruflé and Darke, as well as a very broad range of anthems, both ancient & modern. A particular highlight has been the introduction of some contemporary female composers’ works. Harry led a very successful ‘Come & Sing’ event in 2025 and last month the choir took part in a superb joint concert with Ealing Junior Music School Adult Chorale. Above all, we have been a happy band of choristers under his leadership, and it has been immensely enjoyable. He will be missed enormously. His last service will be the Easter Sunday Mass at 10.30am on 5 April 2026. We are collecting donations for a farewell gift. You can make an online donation here.

Scene from Sung Compline on Tuesday this week. Both Monday and Tuesday were deeply enriching, and also offered a gateway to increased fellowship amongst those present, singing and praying in all ways.

Thank you to Harry, Luca, Rog, Sunita, Angela, Joe, John, Ellen, Nicola, Steph and Tim, and to Felicity and Valerie for leading respective nights.

After Easter Sunday, our services and events in the following week will be:

Tues-Thurs, no planned public Morning Prayer in the Lady Chapel

Wednesday - Midweek Mass pause

Thursday - Memory Cafe break

Sunday 12 April - Mass with hymns at 10.30; Noisy Mass, no Children’s Church or Youth Groups.

Everyone is able to join the electoral roll if they worship here or if they live in the parish boundary.

You can join anytime, by completing this form and dropping it into the Parish Office letterbox.

Being on the electoral roll can make a difference with school applications, as well as being a part of our belonging and commitment within our Christian faith.

Supper and chat

For those who have read the Listening to the Music of the Soul or followed the Lent podcast and questions, a chance to meet up and share food and thoughts.

A simple supper is planned for Tuesday 14 April at 6.30-8.30pm at the Vicarage. Please let Mthr Sarah know if you would like to come, including any dietary requirements. You are welcome to attend for all or part of the time.

EASTER WEEKEND FOR THE FAMILY

For young people we have a number of exciting things happening - please contact Ministry Team for more information.  All timings listed on the poster below.

Good Friday - children’s workshop with crafts and a short Good Friday prayer-based service

Saturday morning - building the Easter Garden - from 10am.  We have some families signed up to create the garden this year - thank you!  Children still welcome for church cleaning ;)

Saturday morning - before Church Cleaning, a short Morning Prayer (15 Mins) for all at the High Altar, as we recall Christ descending to Hell and saving those who have gone before. Prayer with art and touchy-feely objects, for all.

 

 

Donations for Food Pantry

Please consider donating items from the list in church. Donations may be left after church on Sundays or during Food Pantry hours on Wednesdays. If you would like to give a monetary donation specifically to the food pantry, please mark your green envelope ‘Food Pantry’, or use this link.

Small amounts of fresh produce can be accepted ONLY when the Pantry is open on Wednesdays.

Forward Look - coming dates

 

Sunday 3 May 10.30 - first Sung Mass with our new Director of Music.  First Sundays will be led musically by Luca onwards - we will indicate the shape of them in due course, as that work evolves over the spring and summer months.

Ascension Day - 7pm Thursday 14 May - a short (30mins) Said Mass, with a hymn, followed by drinks in the Vicarage garden. All are welcome

APCM Sunday 17 May, 12.15pm - in the Large Hall

Newcomers Vicarage garden party - Saturday 20 June, 2-5pm.  All those who are new in the past year, or missed last year, or are not so new but feel it - WELCOME!
