Following the success of last year’s Lent Course, The Mystery of Everything, this year we will be following another of Hilary Brand’s courses, Christ and the Chocolaterie.

This innovative and lively Lent course is inspired by the film Chocolat, based on the bestselling novel by Joanne Harris. Using the film as a starting point for exploring issues about God, the world, and what it means to be human, there will be five sessions:

1. Giving up - the prelude to change 

2. Giving out - the power of a gift 

3. Getting wise - the possibility of change 

4. Getting real - the power of acceptance 

5.Growing up - the process of change. 

How does it work?

The course will run on Tuesday evenings between 7.30pm and 9pm in the church. It begins with a simple finger food meal and will include 

some input followed by discussion and reflection around a specific theme.

The course consists of 5 sessions:
