Remembering Her Majesty the Queen
Dear friends,
We join the nation in mourning for our longest reigning monarch. Her example of steadfastness, duty and dignity reflected her deep faith and commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
Here are some of the ways we will be commemorating the late Queen at St Barnabas:
Sunday 18 September | Evensong on the Eve of the State Funeral | 6 pm This service will combine prayers and music specifically created to honor the Queen's memory as well as a hymn composed by one of our church musicians, Henry Tozer, written in tribute of the late Sovereign. Join us to pray for the Royal Family and with the nation. |
Monday 19 September | Screening of the State Funeral | 10 am You are warmly invited to join us in church to watch the late Queen's funeral on the large screen. It will be a lovely opportunity to be together to share this historic occasion with the added advantage of the large screen. We will serve tea, coffee and homemade cake and as we watch, I am sure there will be opportunities to exchange our own memories of Her Majesty. Everyone is welcome, and please do invite friends. Please RSVP to Mother Valerie on Sunday, or send a message to 07968345992. |
Condolences can be recorded in a book alongside the portrait of the Queen at the back of church or online at the official website of the Royal Family https://www.royal.uk
With every blessing,
Fr. Justin
Gracious God, we give thanks
for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,
for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death
and may her example continue to inspire us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
