Choirs

Music plays an integral part in the worship at St Barnabas. We are fortunate to have well-established and thriving choirs that lead our musical offering and help us encounter God in our collective worship.

The Choir of St Barnabas’ Church, Ealing

Our choir spans a wide age range, and includes those with significant musical experience, alongside newer and younger singers (singers in their 20s and teens are regular members).  The choir has two paid choral scholars.  Our repertoire is rooted in the Anglican choral tradition and the choir sings at the Mass every Sunday at 10.30am, either a sung mass or leading a congregational mass setting, as well as leading hymns and offering a sung psalm and a communion anthem. In advance of Mass, the choir rehearses from 9.30am. The choir also sings for other additional festivals and at Choral Evensong services. If you are interested in joining, or would like some more information about the choir, please email the Director of Music (harry.guthrie@barnabites.org).

Choral Singing for Children

We welcome children keen on choral singing to join our Choir.  The young people rehearse additionally every Sunday following Eucharist from 12.00-12.30pm and sing with the Choir at Mass on Sundays as well as at Evensong. The RSCM learning and awards scheme is encompassed in this opportunity. This singing opportunity is open to boys and girls aged from 9 years old. If your child would like to join or you would like more information, please contact the Director of Music (harry.guthrie@barnabites.org).

Gospel Choir

The Gospel Choir, directed by Henry Tozer, rehearses on the second and third Sundays of the month. If you are interested in joining the Gospel Choir please contact Henry Tozer (henrytozer@gmail.com) for more information.
