We present a unique weekend festival of all Beethoven piano sonatas played by 32 different pianists, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. We have a magnificent Bosendorfer concert grand, previously belonging to the BBC, and this will be placed in the middle of the nave, with a large screen system making the pianists easily visible, as shown in the photo. The sonatas will be played in opus order, in a journey from from early to middle and late Beethoven. The provisional list of pianists is shown below. Admission will be £15 for each of the four sessions – Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings - in aid of St Barnabas church funds. No tickets will be sold beforehand. The church is large and admission is guaranteed for all. Tea, supper and refreshments will be provided. This festival will appeal to all lovers of Beethoven and/or fine piano playing. Please note the event in your diary. More details later on....
