The Youth Club (Exchange)
Who?
Anyone
aged 11 to 16 years who’s at a high school. You should have some
connection with St. Barnabas, e.g. have come to Brownies or Cubs, or
your family come to services sometimes. Or you can be introduced by an
existing member.
What
There’s table football, ping pong and music in the big hall. We usually
do something as a group - crafts, a quiz, crazy games or perhaps some
drama.
Last
year, amongst other things, we drew silhouettes of each other in a dark
church, made pizzas, had a water fight, went ice skating, did charades,
a treasure hunt, took part in the pantomime and other shows…
Cooking and/or eating is always popular, as are outings. We went
ice-skating at Christmas, and to Richmond Park in the summer.
We
have a tuck shop as well.
And
lots of talking …. in the Lady Chapel or our own space, the Upper Room.
Each meeting we make time to explore a serious topic about God, the
world, the Bible, wherever the conversation goes.
When?
Every
other Sunday night in term-time, 7pm to 9 pm. starting in the large
hall.
We have now broken up for the summer, and will return in September.
How?
Ring
Sue Hudson on 8997 3248 or just come along one Sunday.
The
first week is free, and if Exchange is for you subs are £1 a week
thereafter. You might also want to bring some change for a drink or
some chocolate.
Hope
to see you soon!!!
