Alexander Soares (piano) was born in London , and educated at St Paul 's School. He studied at the RCM Junior Department, Cambridge University (gaining a first-class honours in music) and is now a student at the Guildhall School of Music on a full scholarship. He is a Recommended Artist in Making Music's Philip and Dorothy Green Award. He has won numerous awards including Guildhall's Beethoven Prize, a Countess of Munster award and reached the semi-finals of both the Manchester International Concerto Competition and the Bromsgrove Festival. He has performed across the United Kingdom at such venues as the Barbican Centre, LSO St. Luke's, St. James' Piccadilly, and West Road , Cambridge . He has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and has featured in the LSO Discovery Series, performing a recital of French Music. Upcoming projects include a tour of Stravinsky's Les Noces around London and Paris . Alexander made his concerto debut at the age of 17, with the Barber Concerto, and since then has regularly appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras in London and Cambridge , most recently with the Ealing Symphony Orchestra, in a critically acclaimed performance of Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto.
