St Barnabas Haydn Piano Sonata Festival
We present a unique festival of wonderful piano-playing
on Sunday May 31st, from 1.30-10.00 pm
featuring 23 of Haydn piano sonatas, played by 23 different pianists
on the exact 200th anniversary of his death on 31st May 1809
We have a superb Bosendorfer concert grand piano, previously used by the BBC
The festival will be held 'in the round', with the piano in the centre of the church
There will be frequent refreshment breaks, after every 3-4 sonatas,
and supper will be served at 6.00 pm.
No advance tickets will be issued - just turn up !
The church is very large and admission is guaranteed
There are no problems parking near the church.
Admission : £10 to the afternoon session (1.30 pm)
or evening session (7.00-10.00 pm)
Young people under 16 half price
All proceeds will go to the St Barnabas Organ Fund -
we need to raise £300,000 for a historic 'Hill' organ.
