All about our concerts...

Friday Lunchtime Concerts

We hold concerts every Friday lunchtime at 1pm , with superb musicians playing wonderful music for about 45 minutes. We aim for a very high standard of performance. We are fortunate in having a beautiful Bosendorfer concert grand piano, which was formerly used by the BBC for broadcasts. The concerts are held 'in the round', with the piano in the middle of the nave, and the audience arranged around the musicians, to heighten everyone's involvement and enjoyment. . The concerts are free with a retiring voluntary donations, and no tickets are required. About 80-100 people usually attend, and all proceeds go towards the St Barnabas Organ Appeal. So come along - you will be very welcome. Enquiries (particularly from musicians who would like to perform in our concerts) should be sent to Hugh Mather (hmather@btopenworld.com), or tel 020 8997 7691. Click here for the list of forthcoming concerts, and here for the archive of previous lunchtime concerts since they commenced in September 2007.

St Barnabas Summer Proms

We presented the inaugural St Barnabas Summer Proms from Monday July 21st to Friday August 8th 2008, with 11 concerts - 9 evening and 2 lunchtime - featuring well-known local musicians playing popular masterpieces by famous composers. This was a huge success, providing perfect musical entertainment for enjoyable summer evenings. We concluded with a traditional 'Last Night of the Proms' on Friday August 8th, attended by over 400 people. Click here for the full programme. We will be repeating this again in 2009, with the same format, from Monday July 20th to Friday August 7th.

St Mary's Perivale

Concert-lovers are also warmly invited to our sister organization, St Mary's Perivale, which is a stunningly beautiful 12th century church, situated less than a mile away. It became redundant in the 1970's, and is now a flourishing arts centre, with a full programme of quality concerts featuring first-class musicians, usually held on Wednesday evenings or at weekends. It is an architectural gem, and the perfect venue for instrumental and chamber music concerts. It is rapidly gaining a national reputation - the 'jewel' in the crown of Ealing arts activities. Most concerts are free with a retiring collection, and parking is free and readily available. Click here for further details.
