St Barnabas has three choirs - junior, middle and adult, and new members are always welcome. The choir sings at special occasions. It meets in the Lady Chapel on term-time Thursdays, gathering from 5.00pm to chat and play percussion instruments. The choir sings from 5.15 to 5.45pm. Please contact Angela Draper on 020 8998 5573. Middle choir is for 7-13 year olds. The choir sings with the adult choir at the 10.30am Parish Eucharist every Sunday, and on other special occasions. The choir does not stay in church for the whole service but goes out to Young Church 1. As children progress in the choir they earn awards and many finish up by gaining the Dean’s and/or Bishop’s Chorister Awards and singing at a presentation at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Middle choir is for children who enjoy singing and are willing to come regularly to the 10.30am Sunday service, and it rehearses on Mondays between 6:30 and 7:30 pm. The ability to read words is essential; ability to read music comes with practice. Please contact Hazel Baker on 020 8578 4667. Adult choir meets every Monday evening at 7.30pm to practice for the 10.30am Parish Eucharist and occasional special services or functions.
